 Businesses - - - get ready to benefit from winter events!

As a business owner, are you ready to take advantage of the many  winter events that abound in Presque Isle County and nearby areas?  Don’t overlook winter marketing efforts which can produce customers as you cross over into ongoing winter activities.  

According to Presque Isle County Tourism Director Kammie Dennis, “There are always additional visitors in our area during the wintertime.  With the Shivaree and Nordic Ski Race, this encourages both new and returning guests to experience the great outdoors in Presque Isle County.”

First Flush for Onaway Sewer System:  October 26, 2004 was an historic day, marking the first customer connection to Onaway’s new municipal sewage treatment system. The first connection signified successful completion for Phase One of the project, which included both the treatment system and interceptor pipes serving the central part of town. Meanwhile, Phase II construction has already begun along Highway M-211. This part of the project will serve commercial and industrial development, including the Onaway Renaissance Zone.

AWOS Complete:  The new AWOS, or Automated Weather Observation Station, at the Rogers City Airport is now in operation. The station has both a VHF frequency of 118.125 and local phone number 734-7419. Current weather conditions on the field are available around the clock for pilots, boaters and other interested citizens.
